Miss Cook Inlet’s Outstanding Teen, Corinne Johnson
Corinne was born in Utah and moved to Alaska in 2002, she has been here ever since. Currently, a student at South Anchorage High School, she is in Swing Choir and has been involved with many of the shows and musicals.
Corinne is very involved in her community. She volunteers with organizations all over Anchorage. Such as: Special Olympics Alaska, TBA Theatre, The Foster Family Christmas Party and many more.
She has performed in musicals and other play productions since she was six and since then has had a part in 17 productions around Anchorage. Most recently she was in Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey, with the Company Akapelle. She is also involved with choirs around Anchorage. Such as: De Capo with Akapelle, her church choir, All State Choir, All North West Choir and others.
The Miss Anchorage Outstanding Teen Pageant was Corinne’s first ever pageant. She had such a great experience and is excited for the Miss Alaska’s Outstanding Teen competition. She is honored to be the first ever Miss Cook Inlet’s Outstanding Teen and is so excited to have the opportunity to share her platform, Using the Arts as an Outlet. She believes strongly that giving youth who have experienced trauma an opportunity to be a part of something, will keep them on the right track. When someone is a part of a community it is less likely for them to become involved with drugs or gangs. Giving someone a passion and a way to express themselves is extremely important. The arts community has helped her in such a huge way and she knows that the arts can save lives.
