Meet Miss Anchorage’s Outstanding Teen 2019

Miss Anchorage’s Outstanding Teen, Sycely Wheeles

Sycely was born and raised in Alaska. Currently a student at Mears Middle School, she is involved with Advanced Choir and Video Production. She is a representative for her school at ASD Student Advisory Board.
Sycely is highly involved in her community. She regularly uses her video production skills to support and promote various organizations. On her YouTube channel Starring Sycely, she posts vlogs of her travels, holidays, and camping experiences.

She performed with Children’s Dance Theatre for nine years, which included starring as Clara in the Nutcracker. Sycely also took part in Dimond High School’s productions of Oklahoma! and The Sound of Music.
The Gold Nugget Princess Program taught Sycely a passion for service and a love for the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen system. In 2017, Sycely won the title of Miss Alaska Jr. High and represented our great state at Miss Junior High School America. Now Miss Anchorage’s Outstanding Teen, she is so excited to have the opportunity to spread the message of her platform, Service with a SMILE (Serving, Mentoring, Inspiring, Leading and Encouraging). Sycely believes it is our duty to serve, whether that means volunteering, raising money for charity, giving someone or compliment, or simply holding the door for a stranger.
